The intriguing Club Wotever provides an outlet for both up-and-coming and well-established LGBT and queer performers, spoken-word artists and musicians, with a weekly changing menu of hosts and live music, poetry, dance and burlesque. Think drag kings, drag queens and drag without gender, and across all ages and ethnicities. Previous venues have included the now-defunct spaces Bar Titania, the Black Cap and the Hoist, but for a long while now Wotever has made the Royal Vauxhall Tavern [see entry] its own with Queer Cabaret Tuesday, weekly from 7pm until midnight, including dancing in the final hour. Started in 2005 by Ingo Cando (at Central Station).

Really inclusive performance/variety show evening, open to the whole queer spectrum
I love Bar Wotever! Nowhere else in London will you see a queer audience this diverse, bringing together the whole LGBTQ spectrum and many that don’t fit into any simplistic category, of all ages and backgrounds. Being non-binary I really feel at home in a place that's got such a welcoming, inclusive, family-like atmosphere for everyone. There's a community news segment where people get to come and talk about their other events and groups, that alone is just such a nice thing. The acts are really high-quality and diverse, too, and you just never know what you're gonna get. Art? Standup? Spoken Word? Drag Queens? Drag Kings? Burlesque? Music? It's all here, and all thought provoking ad high-quality. But they're also open to new acts, and there's always open mike slots available.
