Basic decor can accompany tasty and fresh food, and Pho is a fine example of this, though in 2012 the decor got an upgrade care of Mrs Anh Le, who took over the operation in 2007; Anh and partner Nghia were political refugees who in 1980 fled Vietnam. Just off Soho's Old Compton St, this pokey gem offers generous portions, quick service and a sizeable and varied menu, including the popular and hearty Vietnamese noodle soup pho (pronounced something like 'fuh'). Booze is not available but can be brought in. Sometimes calls itself 'Viet Pho' or 'Viet Soho', but the proper name is simply 'Viet'.
