Bermondsey Antiques Market Formerly: Bermondsey Market

(1 Rating)
Antiques possibly worth getting up at 4am for
Not quite what it once was, Bermondsey Market nevertheless continues to have a pull with both serious collectors and casual consumers of silver, glass and bric-a-brac, with anything from 25 to 40 die-hard stallholders displaying their goods on a Friday morning, whatever the weather. Although the affluent aroma of cigar smoke is no longer on the breeze, a little of the old atmosphere remains. Includes a coffee stall. Tube stations: Borough and London Bridge. Landmarks within easy reach: Tower of London (northbound over Tower Bridge), Borough Market [see entry] and the Cat & the Cucumber (very good caff for an English fry-up of bacon/egg/sausage/mushrooms/tomatoes/toast/tea etc, 192 Tower Bridge Rd).
