Stephen Jones

Top hat in town, and gay too

Adorable Covent Garden shop showcasing the renowned millinery talents of Cheshire-born Stephen Jones, who in 1975 travelled to London, where hats would never be the same again. Jones's early years coincided with London's New Romantic scene (the Blitz club, Steve Strange, Boy George, Duran Duran etc), of which he was a fixture. His continually innovative career then escalated, with Jean-Paul Gaultier, Diana, Thierry Mugler, Zandra Rhodes, Karl Lagerfeld and Diana, Princess of Wales among his clients and collaborators. Jones's 2011 shop collections include Model Millinery hats and the diffusion lines Miss Jones and JonesBoy. Opened in the mid-90s, previously in Heddon St in Mayfair.
